Pacific Packaging Machinery was founded in 1962 by Mr. Stephen F. Ellison in Los Angeles, CA. where the company began building rotary liquid filling machines for food applications. Initially our liquid fillers dealt mostly with viscous products — honey, mayonnaise, margarine, and peanut butter.
In 1963, Pacific’s first production filler was installed in the Sioux Honey plant in Waycross, Georgia. Over the years, Sioux Honey expanded their usage to 5 Pacific fillers that served as the core of their honey liquid filling operation.
In 1964, Kraft Foods saw the benefits of Pacific Packaging’s viscous filling technology and purchased an 8 station filler for their marshmallow cream plant in Buena Park, CA. The initial installation, which replaced a difficult to use piston filler, became a success story within Kraft and soon thereafter they started to replace their existing liquid fillers with Pacific fillers. Today, Kraft has over 100 Pacific fillers in operation within 25 plants across 8 countries.
In our 50+ years of operation we have developed a wide variety of filling approaches and technologies to meet the specific requirements for all liquid applications. Today, our inline, rotary and drum liquid fillers serve to provide a best in class solution for the food, personal care, home care, pharmaceutical, and automotive/chemical industries.
Today, Pacific’s impressive customer base includes over 700 unique filler installations throughout 25 countries.

1963 – Pacific’s first rotary volumetric filler shipped to Sioux Honey.
1964 – Kraft Foods installs 1st Pacific 8-station filler for marshmallow creme application.
1967 – Gillette installs 1st Pacific liquid filler for hair spray products.
1970 – Pacific develops first 2-phase pourable dressing filler for Kraft Foods.
1970 – 100th Pacific filler installed at Kraft Foods for a margarine application.
1972 – 12 station pharmaceutical filler is designed and built for Stiefel Labs.
1973 – First peanut butter filler is installed in Kraft’s Champaign, Illinois plant.
1975 – Pacific provides bottom-up fill, positive shutoff nozzles to Unilever for stringy application.
1977 – Pacific designs the first rotary volumetric filler with variable rate product flow system.
1980 – Pacific Packaging moves company headquarters and manufacturing to Covina, California.
1980 – Pacific’s first 36 station filler is purchased by Kraft to fill BBQ sauce at 500 containers per minute.
1982 – The 250th Pacific filler is installed at the Best Foods plant in Manila, Philippines.
1986 – Another 36 station Pacific filler is purchased by Best Foods to fill vegetable oil at 450 containers per minute.
1989 – Pacific designs and installs peanut butter and jelly swirl filler for Smuckers.
1991 – BestFoods installs their 50th Pacific filler.
1991 – Cosmetic Laboratories purchases Pacific’s first servo-controlled filler for personal care application.
1994 – Kraft purchases their 75th Pacific filler for Australia peanut butter plant.
1996 – Pacific designs and delivers a 16 station filler for mole paste, one of the most viscous liquid applications.
1999 – Pacific ships 500th filler to handle explosive automotive products for Power Service Products.
1999 – Pacific designs and manufacturers tribloc filler (cleaner/filler/capper) for leading producer of pourable dressing products.
2000 – Elmer’s Glue Products purchases 18 station filler for viscous glue applications.
2000 – Pacific delivers our 50th 2-phase filling system to Ken’s Foods.
2000 – Pacific designs and manufactures 500 container per minute monobloc (filler/capper) for foods products.
2002 – Pacific Packaging celebrates 40 year anniversary and relocates company to San Clemente, California.
2003 – Church and Dwight replaces gravity-pressure filler with a 24-Station Pacific for foamy products.
2004 – Pacific designs rotary automatic bag-in-a-box filling machine for major food manufacturer.
2004 – Pacific integrates Angelus seamer with 18-station filler for 250 CPM automotive application at BG Products.
2004 – Pacific installs mass flow filling machine for health drink application. Sterilization & filling accuracy are key to the project ROI.
2004 – Pacific receives patent application for new Clean-In-Place filling nozzles.
2005 – Pacific installs first “no bottle/no fill” filling machine for aerosols.
2007 – Pacific acquires RatioFlo Technologies and adds inline fillers, drum fillers and lidders to set of rotary products.
2008 – Flow meter inline filling machine delivered to John I. Haas company to reduce giveaway on expensive product.
2009 – Recochem installs 28-station rotary filler for chemical application with 180 gallon per minute capacity.
2009 – Dairy Farmers of America installs 2nd netweight filler and lidder for 5-gallon pail condensed milk application.
2010 – John P. Sanfilippo & Sons installs their 1st Pacific rotary filler – it’s the 30th butter machine produced by Pacific.
2010 – Apex International installs 1st Pacific rotary filler for their soap & lotion line, currently running over 200 containers per minute.
2010 – Pacific acquires Pack West Machinery & adds a full line of over 40-models of inline cappers, rotary cappers, lidders, torquers and inline components, including: state-of-the-art cap elevator-sorter-feeders, unscramblers, accumulators & conveyor systems.
2011 – Portugal-based Mendes Gonçalves installs a 2-station inline filler and a 10-station rotary filler for their mayonnaise product.
2011 – Pacific designs and ships their 1st rotary capper for continuous thread closures.
2011 – Cargill Foods installs a 10-station inline filler, their 10th Pacific filling machine.
2011 – Pacific designs and delivers their first Tri-bloc machine to Ken’s Foods, with production speeds up to 425 containers per minute. The Tri-bloc BBQ sauce line runs a 36-station rotary bottle rinser, 24-station rotary filler and a 14-station rotary capper.
2012 – Pacific Packaging Machinery celebrates 50th Anniversary.
2012 – Pacific designs and delivers KIK Corporation, Indiana their first 18-station rotary filler for personal care product line.
2012 – California Prison Industry Authority (CALPIA) installs their first Pacific 6-station inline volumetric pump-metering filling machine and first Pack West rotary unscrambler & accumulator tables for their cleaning product line.
2012 – Derm/Awesome Products installs their 5th Pacific Packaging 8-station rotary capping machine for their home care products.
2012 – Pacific designs and ships Argentina-based Niza, S.A. their first monobloc: a 10-station rotary volumetric filler and 6-station rotary capping machine for their peanut butter line.
2013 – Pacific designs and delivers Charles Jacquin a rotary mass flow meter 24-station filler for their beverage applications.
2013 – Wallaby Yogurt installs their first Pacific inline net weight pail filling and lidding system for their yogurt line.
2013 – Pacific designs and delivers Gizmo Beverages their first 6-station rotary capping machine for their beverage applications.
2013 – Pacific designs and ships Chile-based, Code Pack their first inline 4-station mass flow meter pail filling and lidding system for their 5-gallon automotive products.
2013 – Sabra Dipping Company installs their first Pacific 6-station rotary capping machine for their salsa products.
